Our first two weeks have been absolutely great this year. We have had Spanish lessons, pilgrim feasts, pool parties, kick ball, academic challenges, artistic self-portraits, Hungry Howie’s pizza, encouragement from teachers and parents alike, and the rest of the year promises to be just as full of creativity and accomplishment as the beginning has been. Thank you, Everyone, for making Covenant Academy the success that it is.
‘General Announcements’
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for September 23rd. This will be our annual picture day. Students may come to school in the outfit that they will wear for their pictures. Families are invited to take group shots with other family members if they wish. Just let us know that more of your family will be coming to be photographed.
Unfortunately we had to restructure our elementary classrooms for the upcoming year, and Mrs. Earls’s classroom no longer exists as a homeroom. Since she needs to work more than part time, she will not be staying as a staff member. However, she will still be around as a parent and supporter of the school, but we will miss having her here every day. She has been a caring, creative teacher who nurtured her students with love and enthusiasm, and I know they will miss having her as a teacher.
Covenant Academy is indeed privileged to welcome Mrs. Lisa Morgan to our staff. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help her as she teaches and trains our youngest students. We appreciate her enthusiasm and love for teaching and are confident that she will be a wonderful addition to the MCA family. Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet her at the Parent/Teacher Orientation on Thursday night, August 5th, at 7:00 p.m.
With the opening of the early learning center coming in the fall, we are already beginning to gather materials and furnishings that will be necessary to start the program. If you have any of the items on the list below, please contact the school office or tell Mrs. Cooper personally. Whatever we can obtain through donations will be a boost to the program by helping us with start-up costs. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of Covenant Academy as we move forward in this new venture.
Angel Fielden will be taking on the responsibility of managing our day-to-day activities at the school. She will be available in the office to help parents and students with clerical issues as well as answering the phone during the day. We will introduce her to everyone in person at the orientation meeting on August 5th. We know you will love and appreciate her as you get to know her. She is a graduate of Covenant Academy and a wonderful young woman….oh…and, of course, Bailee’s mom.
